Our Platinum Standard Commitment

We achieved a Platinum Sustainability rating from EcoVadis, one of the world’s leading providers of business sustainability accreditations.

We are delighted to have earned this accreditation from EcoVadis. Our customers today are asking for a minimum adherence to ESG principles and in the future this is likely to become mandatory. This rating provides a common language for measurement that highlights our ESG efforts, while providing credibility from a globally recognised leader in business sustainability,”

Science-Based Targets

Our near-term targets and long-term science-based emissions reduction targets and commitment to Net Zero by 2050 have been validated by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Offering a range of target-setting resources and guidance, the SBTi independently assesses and approves companies’ targets in line with its strict criteria. Further information can be found directly on their website https://sciencebasedtargets.org/.

i-confidential commits to reduce scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030 from a 2022 base year, and to measure and reduce its scope 3 emissions. We commit to reach Net Zero by 2050. As part of this, we commit to reduce scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by 90% by 2050 from a 2022 base year.

Emissions Methodology

i-confidential are reporting emissions for the year 1st January 2023 to 31st December 2023 (this is not aligned with our financial year which runs September to August).

Our carbon footprint was calculated using an operational control approach. Under this approach, all entities and associated assets over which i-confidential has 100% operational control are included under the organisation’s scope 1 and 2 emission categories. All other entities, over which i-confidential does not have 100% operational control are included in the organisation’s scope 3 emissions along with all other indirect emissions associated with the organisation.

GHG emissions are calculated using methodologies consistent with the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol: A Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard, with additional guidance from the GHG Protocol Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Accounting and Reporting Standard and the GHG Protocol Technical Guidance for Calculating Scope 3 Emissions, as required. We submit our emissions to CDP annually.

Carbon Reduction Plan

We have implemented multiple environmental measures over the last couple of years including:

  • Introduced a cycle to work scheme to reduce emissions related to employee commuting.

  • Introduced an electric vehicle scheme to help reduce carbon emissions.

  • Improved our environmental policy to promote recycling, reuse, and reducing waste.

  • Introduced a flexible working policy which allows employees to work from home, reducing employee commuting.

  • Enhanced our environmental training programmes and raised awareness among all employees on the business impacts of climate change, with a focus on emissions.
